Position Summary
The
Instructional Designer – Service Delivery and Transformation (SDT) will help design, develop, and maintain learning content that assists in building technical capability for Tax professionals across the US and USI. This is an execution-focused role: the Instructional Designer is responsible for learning assets from initial design through development, review, and delivery, producing eLearning, instructor-led materials, and supporting resources aligned to business priorities and established design standards.
Work you'll do
As a Specialist, Talent Development on the Service Delivery and Transformation (SDT) team, you will be responsible for:
Content Design & Development
- Help design and develop end-to-end learning insights for Tax professionals, including eLearning modules, instructor-led course materials, job aids, facilitator guides, and participant workbooks.
- Apply adult learning principles and established instructional design standards to produce effective, engaging, and accurate learning experiences.
- Storyboard and outline course content before drafting, then draft, revise, and iterate based on feedback from peers, subject matter specialists, and stakeholders.
- Assist in building and maintaining learning content in eLearning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Rise) and learning management systems as required.
Curriculum Development & Maintenance
- Support in eExecuting curriculum development activities, including content updates, version control, deliverable reviews, and coordination with subject matter resources.
- Maintain curriculum data and documentation to ensure content accuracy, relevance, and alignment with current tax technical content and business priorities.
- Facilitate consistency in terminology, formatting, and adherence to established templates and design standards across all deliverables.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Content Validation
- Gather, interpret, and validate information from subject matter specialists to ensure technical accuracy before finalizing content.
- Ask clarifying questions, identify gaps, and support in driving content to resolution through structured review cycles with stakeholders and peers.
- Collaborate with team members to align design directions, quality standards, and delivery timelines.
Project & Operational Execution
- Track and manage project timelines, deliverable milestones, and status updates using Microsoft Planner or equivalent tools.
- Prepare stakeholder-ready materials, including progress reports, review packages, and program documentation.
- Maintain strong operational discipline across concurrent projects, managing priorities and flagging risks or blockers proactively.
The Team
Deloitte Tax LLP's Tax Transformation Office (TTO) is responsible for the design, development, and deployment of innovative, enterprise technology, tools, and standard processes to support the delivery of tax services. The TTO team focuses on supporting Deloitte Tax LLP's ability to provide comprehensive, value-added, and efficient tax services to its clients. It is a dynamic team with professionals of varying backgrounds from tax technical, technology development, change management, Six Sigma, and project management. The team consults and executes a wide range of initiatives involving support to process and tool development and implementation including training development, engagement management, tool design, and implementation.
Work Location: Hyderabad
Shift Timings: 11 AM to 8 PM IST
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree
- 1–3 years of professional experience in instructional design, learning and development, curriculum development, or a related field
- Experience designing and developing learning content, including eLearning, instructor-led, or blended learning materials
- Working knowledge of instructional design principles and adult learning theory
- Experience preparing documents, presentations, or project materials using Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to travel 10%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
Preferred:
- Experience supporting learning programs within a tax, finance, or professional services environment
- Hands-on experience with eLearning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Rise, or similar)
- Experience collaborating with subject matter experts to develop technically accurate learning content
- Exposure to learning management systems (LMS) or content management workflows
