Job Description

Role Overview

As a College Catapult Mentor, you will guide school students (starting from grade 8) through their college application journey by helping them set clear academic and career goals. You will provide structured mentoring, facilitate engaging sessions, and ensure students and parents receive high-quality support and actionable roadmaps for success.

Key Responsibilities

Goal Setting & Student Roadmap

  • Help students establish clear college and career goals.
  • Provide a structured action plan tailored to their academic and extracurricular profile.

Session Facilitation & Student Engagement

  • Conduct one-on-one mentoring sessions via Zoom.
  • Offer guidance on career direction, college goals, extracurricular planning, and skill-building.
  • Encourage student participation and maintain an interactive and supportive environment.

Parental Communication & Progress Updates

  • Maintain regular communication with parents, updating them on student progress.
  • Ensure alignment with parental expectations by helping students work on challenging and ambitious projects.

Training & Tool Proficiency

  • Attend mandatory training sessions on mentoring techniques and digital tools.
  • Should be proficient in Zoom, ChatGPT, Connect, Calendly, Fireflies, and GSuite. We will also provide training, as needed.

Documentation & Follow-Ups

  • Keep detailed records of each session, including attendance, student feedback, and follow-ups.
  • Share session notes, feedback, and additional learning resources within 24 hours of each session.

Compliance & Professionalism

  • Adhere to mentorship protocols, including session scheduling, attendance, and engagement.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and work environment (well-lit, quiet, and camera-ready).
Performance Metrics
  • Student Satisfaction Scores Ensure at least 90% positive feedback.
  • Onboarding Completion Rate Successfully guide students through the program.
  • Retention & Success Rate Help students achieve academic & extracurricular milestones.
  • Compliance with SOPs Follow documentation, training, and engagement protocols.
Work Schedule & Availability
  • Working days Sessions can be scheduled from Monday to Saturday, 12-9 pm.
  • Timely Attendance Mentors must be available on time for scheduled calls.
  • Session Frequency Mentors are expected to conduct a minimum of one 1-hour session per student per month, with flexibility for adjustments based on individual student needs and program requirements.
  • Contract duration While there is no formal lock-in period, we request that mentors commit to supporting their assigned students through the completion of their mentorship journey, to ensure continuity and impact.
Ideal Candidate
  • Experience in mentoring, career counseling, or college admissions preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage students effectively.
  • Comfortable using digital tools & remote communication platforms.
  • Highly organized, with the ability to manage student progress & session documentation.
  • Patient, encouraging, and adaptable to different student needs.
Compensation & Penalties
  • Payments will be disbursed monthly, with transfers scheduled for the 4th of each month to the bank account provided.
  • Compensation will follow a per-student payment structure.
  • Non-adherence to policies (e.g., missing sessions, or delays in documentation) may result in salary deductions or contract termination.
Compensation Structure
  • The financial structure is set at 15,000 per student per year.
  • For an engagement with 15 students, comprising approximately 20 working hours per month, this would translate to an annual earning of 1,80,000. (amounts are in INR)
