Category Manager – Flea Market
About the Role
The Category Manager – Flea Market is responsible for driving the overall growth, profitability, and operational excellence of the Flea Market business across NoBrokerHood societies. This role leads a team of Flea Market Managers and owns category strategy, vendor ecosystem development, event performance, revenue growth, and stakeholder management.
As a key member of the NoBrokerHood Community Engagement team, the Category Manager will scale flea market operations, develop new business opportunities, establish best practices, and ensure consistent execution of high-quality events that enhance resident experiences while delivering strong business outcomes.
Role Type: Team Management + Business Ownership
Key Responsibilities
1. Category Ownership & Business Growth
- Own the overall Flea Market category P&L and revenue targets.
- Define category growth strategies and expansion plans across cities and societies.
- Identify new opportunities, event formats, partnerships, and monetization channels.
- Drive vendor acquisition, retention, and category diversification to improve customer experience and profitability.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to enhance category offerings.
2. Team Leadership & Performance Management
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Flea Market Managers.
- Set performance goals, KPIs, and revenue targets for the team.
- Conduct regular reviews, coaching sessions, and performance evaluations.
- Ensure consistent execution standards across all events and locations.
- Build scalable processes and playbooks for efficient event operations.
3. Vendor Ecosystem Management
- Oversee vendor sourcing strategies across categories including food, fashion, crafts, lifestyle, home décor, and services.
- Build strategic relationships with high-value vendors and partners.
- Establish vendor onboarding, pricing, and compliance frameworks.
- Negotiate key commercial agreements to maximize profitability.
- Ensure a strong and continuously growing vendor pipeline.
4. Event Operations & Execution Excellence
- Ensure seamless planning and execution of flea market events across NoBrokerHood societies.
- Review event calendars, resource allocation, and operational readiness.
- Collaborate with operations, logistics, marketing, and finance teams to drive successful event delivery.
- Monitor event quality, customer experience, vendor satisfaction, and operational compliance.
- Resolve escalations and ensure smooth execution of large-scale events.
5. Stakeholder Management
- Build strong relationships with RWAs, MC members, society committees, and key community stakeholders.
- Partner with internal leadership teams to align category goals with organizational objectives.
- Drive customer engagement initiatives to increase participation and repeat attendance.
- Manage strategic partnerships that enhance event visibility and business growth.
6. Revenue, Analytics & Process Improvement
- Track category-level revenue, margins, vendor productivity, and event performance metrics.
- Analyze business data to identify growth opportunities and operational improvements.
- Drive cost optimization initiatives while maintaining service quality.
- Develop dashboards, reports, and business reviews for leadership.
- Implement scalable systems and processes to improve efficiency and profitability.

Preferred Experience
- 5–8+ years of experience in Category Management, Event Operations, Business Development, Marketplace Operations, Community Engagement, or related domains.
- Prior experience leading teams and managing revenue targets.
- Experience in vendor ecosystem management and event-led businesses is highly preferred.
Work Environment
- Combination of field and office-based work.
- Frequent travel within city limits to oversee events and engage with stakeholders.
- Flexibility to work on weekends and public holidays as required, given the nature of community events.
- Responsible for managing multiple concurrent events through a team of Flea Market Managers.
