About the Data and Analytics Function:
By joining the Data, Analytics and AI Hub within Officeworks Global Capability Centre (GCC), you will play a pivotal role in enabling business growth and performance through insight, intelligence and innovation. You will support executing the strategy and accelerate the shift to a more digital and AI-native organization. You'll help build advanced capabilities that sit at the core of how the business understands customers, informs decisions, invests wisely, and delivers measurable value.
The GCC is a critical enabler of Officeworks purpose, by providing data-driven insights, trusted analytics, and scalable AI solutions that empower smarter, faster decision making and support sustainable success.

Why this role exists:
The Business Intelligence Reporting Lead is a critical senior role responsible for defining and driving the enterprise-wide reporting strategy. As Officeworks executes its enterprise data strategy, this role ensures that the transition toward a democratized, self-serve analytics model is governed, consistent, and high performing. Bridging technical architecture and business insights, this role provides the single version of the truth that supports the business in making data-led, value-driven decisions.

Reporting Strategy & Governance:
- Lead the reporting strategy across a diverse modern stack including Snowflake, SAP Datasphere, SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), enterprise systems-of-record, and Power BI.
- Define and apply semantic models and reporting standards, ensuring technical delivery remains grounded in business logic.
- Ensure consistency of KPIs across all business domains, eliminating fragmented reporting and data silos.
- Partner with business and technical stakeholders to deliver actionable insights that drive business growth and operational effectiveness.
Execution & Performance Optimization:
- Oversee dashboard development and performance, ensuring reporting tools are fast, intuitive, and fit for purpose.
- Drive the decommissioning of low-value reports, focusing the organization's effort on high-impact enterprise problem solving.
- Ensure all reporting solutions are quality-controlled, embedding rigorous testing and reconciliation into the development lifecycle.
- Support the democratization of data by building a self-serve environment that empowers users across the enterprise.
Process & Continuous Improvement:
- Possess a continuous improvement mindset, actively working to improve Officeworks data assets and self-serve environment.
- Proactively identify and execute process improvement opportunities within the reporting lifecycle to increase delivery velocity.
- Challenge the status quo of existing reporting workflows, advocating for automated solutions that reduce manual friction.
- Regularly refine reporting templates and data products based on stakeholder feedback and emerging technology trends.
Platform & Architecture Alignment:
- Support the modernization of reporting layers in alignment with the transition to SAP Datasphere and Snowflake.
- Work closely with the Data Architect, Data Modellers Enterprise Data Architect and Data Governance lead (as required) to ensure reporting layers are aligned with the underlying data architecture.
- Manage the technical reporting environment on Snowflake as the primary enterprise platform for both AI and analytics teams.

- Insights & Data Leadership: Collaborating on the execution of the enterprise data strategy and self-serve roadmap.
- Data Hubs: Working daily with Data Architects, Modellers, and Engineers to align the semantic layer with core data builds.
- Enterprise Architecture Teams: Working with specialists to remediate technical debt and ensure reporting layers are resilient and secure.
- Data Governance team to ensure alignment.
- Business Stakeholders: Engaging with commercial leads to translate complex insights into actionable recommendations that drive performance.

Qualifications and work experience:
Essential:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Experience: 8+ years of experience in Business Intelligence and senior reporting roles.
- Technical Mastery: Deep expertise in the modern data stack (Snowflake, Power BI, SAC, and SQL).
- Strategy & Governance: Proven ability to define semantic layers and enterprise-wide data and reporting standards.
- Adaptability: Demonstrated ability to work within a new technology capability and lead significant architectural transitions.
Preferred:
- Retail Context: Experience in a high-volume omnichannel retail environment with exposure to SAP systems.
- Agile Delivery: Experience working within an agile, squad-based delivery model.
- Specialist Knowledge: Demonstratable knowledge in data and security governance and privacy protocols.
