About The Role

We are looking for a dynamic and target-driven Business Development Specialist to scale growth opportunities for our PR agency. The role focuses on identifying potential clients, building strong business relationships, and converting leads into long-term partnerships across sectors including startups, VC ecosystem, consumer brands, technology, lifestyle, and corporate communication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, qualify, and convert new business opportunities for PR and strategic communication services
  • Actively generate leads through outreach, networking, events, references, and digital prospecting
  • Conduct market research to analyse industry trends and prospective sectors
  • Pitch agency capabilities and customized service offerings to decision-makers (Founders/CXOs/Marketing/PR Heads)
  • Create business proposals, PR retainers, and pricing plans aligned with client requirements
  • Maintain a strong and sustained sales pipeline through CRM or internal tracking tools
  • Collaborate with the PR delivery team for smooth onboarding and scope alignment
  • Coordinate and participate in client meetings, presentations, and negotiations
  • Track and report weekly performance metrics outreach, meetings, proposals, conversions & revenue

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong communication and presentation skills (verbal + written)
  • Understanding of PR, brand communications and media ecosystem
  • Confident in client-facing conversations and solution selling
  • Strong negotiation, closing capability & objection handling
  • Ability to build long-term relationships and repeat business
  • Target-oriented with a competitive growth mindset
  • High sense of ownership, urgency, and accountability

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related fields
  • 25 years of experience in BD / sales (preferably in PR / digital marketing / media / creative agencies)
  • Experience in working with startup or VC ecosystem clients is a plus

Performance KPIs

  • Monthly qualified leads generated
  • Number of pitches/meetings conducted
  • Conversion rate (proposal closure)
  • Monthly/quarterly revenue targets achieved
  • Client retention & repeat business generated
