Role Purpose
The Business Analyst will be responsible for requirements definition, gap
identification, documentation and supporting delivery, but will not be accountable for
the actual system build/configuration (which will be delivered by allocated IT
development teams through prioritized delivery).
Requirements
- 6 years experience in Business Analysis and/or Process Improvement
- Demonstrated experience working across system/process remediation,
requirements definition and delivery support
- Proven experience working in Agile environments
- Strong understanding of tax concepts, tax triggers, regulatory reporting and
controls (tax systems experience advantageous)
- Experience with system migrations, data remediation and/or API-enabled
environments is highly desirable
Duties and Responsibilities
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/KRAs/KPIs
- Business analysis & requirements
- Conduct detailed tax-related business analysis through stakeholder engagement
(workshops, interviews, walkthroughs and research).
- Develop expert-level understanding of MWI products, tax triggers, operational
events, and system behaviour.
- Elicit, analyse, validate and document requirements (functional, data,
control/validation, exception management, audit trail and reporting).
- Translate requirements into solution specifications and support prioritised delivery
with IT teams.
- Identify and escalate tax risks, processing risks, and compliance risks impacting
MWI and/or Momentum Investments.
- Gap analysis, root cause & remediation planning.
- Investigate and document historic tax-related errors and processing issues.
- Map root causes across systems, data, events and processes.
- Quantify impact where feasible (financial leakage, rework, operational risk,
compliance exposure).
- Build and maintain a structured remediation plan and roadmap (priorities,
dependencies, timelines, sign-off).
- Process improvement & control design.
- Map current and future state end-to-end processes to identify optimisation and
standardisation opportunities.
- Design improved process flows including straight-through processing and defined
exception handling.
- Design tax controls (preventative/detective), monitoring metrics, exception
reporting and governance touchpoints.
- Maintain accurate process documentation and promote adoption/compliance
across stakeholders.
- Data analysis & insights.
- Write and interpret data queries (as applicable) to support investigation, validation
and control design.
- Analyse large datasets to identify anomalies, exceptions and processing defects.
- Use Excel, SQL and reporting/BI tools (e.g., Power BI / QlikView) as applicable.
- Testing, implementation support & change enablement.
- Define test scenarios, test conditions and acceptance criteria aligned to tax
requirements and controls.
- Support System Testing and UAT, including triage and defect analysis.
- Assist with training material preparation, business readiness and postimplementation verification.
- Regulatory reporting (FATCA / CRS and broader tax reporting).
- Review and document FATCA and CRS reporting processes and system
dependencies.
- Identify automation opportunities, validation needs and audit trail strengthening.
- Align reporting requirements with internal governance and operational controls.
