Job description:

We are seeking an experienced Healthcare Business Analyst / Project Manager with 7+ years of experience in Healthcare IT, specializing in healthcare interoperability, EHR/EMR integrations, and healthcare data exchange standards. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in gathering business requirements, managing healthcare integration projects, coordinating cross-functional teams, and ensuring compliance with healthcare interoperability standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end Healthcare IT projects by gathering business requirements, preparing BRDs/FRDs, user stories, process flows, and managing project delivery using Agile or Waterfall methodologies.
  • Analyze, document, and support healthcare interoperability solutions involving HL7 v2 messaging, FHIR R4 APIs and resources, SMART on FHIR, CDS Hooks, and REST APIs (JSON/XML) for seamless data exchange.
  • Coordinate and manage EHR/EMR integrations with platforms such as Epic, Cerner, athenahealth, Meditech, and other clinical systems, ensuring accurate clinical and administrative data flow.
  • Work closely with providers, payers, pharmacies, architects, developers, QA teams, and third-party vendors to design and implement healthcare integration workflows and interface specifications.
  • Gather, analyze, and validate requirements for X12 EDI transactions (270/271, 276/277, 278, 834, 835, 837) and NCPDP SCRIPT standards to support eligibility, claims, prior authorization, enrollment, payments, and e-prescribing workflows.
  • Define API specifications, interface mappings, business rules, data transformation requirements, and acceptance criteria while supporting RESTful services and healthcare integration platforms.
  • Plan and coordinate System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), healthcare data validation, interface testing, regression testing, and end-to-end integration testing to ensure data accuracy and interoperability.
  • Manage project scope, timelines, risks, RAID logs, stakeholder communication, change management, and project governance while ensuring compliance with HIPAA, healthcare regulations, and organizational quality standards.

Required Skills:

  • 7+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or Project Manager in Healthcare IT.
  • Strong knowledge of HL7 v2 messaging, FHIR R4, SMART on FHIR, CDS Hooks, and healthcare interoperability frameworks.
  • Experience with X12 EDI (270/271, 276/277, 278, 834, 835, 837) and NCPDP SCRIPT standards.
  • Hands-on experience with EHR/EMR integration projects (Epic, Cerner, athenahealth, Meditech, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of REST APIs, JSON, XML, API documentation, and healthcare integration workflows.
  • Experience in healthcare data mapping, validation, reconciliation, integration testing, and defect management.
  • Proficiency in Agile/Scrum methodologies, Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, Microsoft Project, and requirement management tools.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, analytical, problem-solving, and project coordination skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with healthcare integration engines such as Mirth Connect, Cloverleaf, Rhapsody, or InterSystems HealthShare.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, HITECH, CMS regulations, and healthcare security best practices.
  • Experience working with cloud-based healthcare integration platforms and API management solutions.
  • Relevant certifications such as CBAP, PMP, PMI-ACP, CSM, or Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) are preferred.
