About the Role
We are seeking a Back-Office Process Designer (Freelancer) to support advanced AI evaluation initiatives focused on business process automation, workflow design, agentic AI, intelligent operations, and enterprise process transformation.
In this role, you will evaluate AI-generated process maps, workflow automations, SOPs, RPA solutions, and agentic workflow designs. Your expertise will help improve AI systems designed for business process automation, human-in-the-loop operations, intelligent agents, and enterprise workflow orchestration.
This position is ideal for professionals with experience in business process management (BPM), operations excellence, RPA, workflow automation, process consulting, or enterprise transformation.
Responsibilities
- Create deliverables addressing real-world business process automation and workflow design scenarios.
- Annotate and evaluate AI-generated process maps, workflow diagrams, automation designs, SOPs, and business process documentation.
- Assess AI outputs for process efficiency, automation feasibility, operational accuracy, scalability, and business impact.
- Design and evaluate back-office process maps for finance, HR, procurement, customer operations, supply chain, compliance, and shared services.
- Perform SOP decomposition by breaking complex operating procedures into structured decision trees, automation-ready tasks, business rules, and workflow components.
- Design and review RPA and Microsoft Power Automate workflows, identifying automation opportunities, task sequencing, integrations, triggers, and exception paths.
- Develop exception handling strategies to manage workflow failures, business rule violations, manual interventions, escalations, and recovery scenarios.
- Design human-in-the-loop workflows by defining approval checkpoints, manual review stages, escalation paths, and collaboration between AI agents and human reviewers.
- Convert business processes and SOPs into AI agent workflows, identifying tools, decision logic, state transitions, automation boundaries, and orchestration requirements.
- Identify workflow bottlenecks, process inefficiencies, automation gaps, compliance risks, and optimization opportunities.
- Provide structured feedback to improve AI performance in process automation, workflow orchestration, and enterprise operations.
- Review peer-developed deliverables to maintain quality and consistency standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in business process management, operations excellence, RPA, workflow automation, business analysis, or digital transformation.
- Designing back-office process maps using BPMN, swimlane diagrams, value stream maps, or similar methodologies.
- Performing SOP decomposition into executable workflows, business rules, decision logic, and automation opportunities.
- Developing RPA solutions using Microsoft Power Automate, Power Automate Desktop, UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism, or similar platforms.
- Designing exception handling for automated workflows, including retries, escalation paths, fallback procedures, and manual intervention mechanisms.
- Implementing human-in-the-loop (HITL) workflows for quality assurance, approvals, compliance, and operational governance.
- Translating business processes into AI agent workflows, identifying task orchestration, tool integration, workflow states, and automation boundaries.
- Familiarity with BPMN tools such as Microsoft Visio, Lucidchart, Bizagi, Signavio, or similar process modeling platforms is preferred.
- Basic understanding of APIs, enterprise systems, ERP platforms, workflow orchestration, and AI automation is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical thinking, process optimization skills, and attention to detail.
- Excellent written English communication skills.
- Ability to critically evaluate AI-generated workflows for operational efficiency, automation readiness, and business value.
- Ability to work independently in a remote, fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in shared services, business process outsourcing (BPO), consulting, enterprise operations, digital transformation, or automation teams.
- Experience implementing Microsoft Power Platform, UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism, or similar RPA solutions.
- Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, Process Mining, BPMN 2.0, ITIL, or operational excellence frameworks.
- Experience designing AI-powered workflow automation, agentic AI systems, or intelligent process automation (IPA).
- Knowledge of Python, SQL, Power BI, REST APIs, or low-code automation platforms is an advantage.
- Professional certifications in Lean Six Sigma, UiPath, Microsoft Power Platform, Automation Anywhere, or BPM are highly desirable.
