Java Backend Developer (Blue Planet Inventory)

Java Developer ( 5 to 10 years) (Major Key Skills)

Job Location: Remote

Key Responsibilities:

Responsible for the design, development, unit testing, documentation and analysis of modules or features of new or upgraded software systems and products.

Develop and maintain backend components for Blue Planet Inventory using Java, Spring Boot, and RESTful APIs.

Implement and optimize System Integration Framework (SIF) mappings and Guided Operations.

Design and manage inventory models for telecom networks, including support for PNFs/VNFs.

Integrate BPI with external systems such as EMS/NMS, OSS/BSS platforms, and orchestration layers.

Work with Graph databases (e.g., Neo4j) and relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL) to manage inventory data.

Collaborate with UI developers, QA testers, and solution architects to deliver end-to-end solutions.

Understanding the existing code, coding and documentation standards and extending the core product components without breaking backwards compatibility and with adhering to coding/documentation standards.

Ensure code quality, scalability, and performance through unit testing and code reviews.

Maintain technical documentation and contribute to Agile development processes.

Required Skills & Experience:

Minimum 510 years of Java backend development experience, preferably in telecom OSS environments.

Strong proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, and REST API development.

Hands-on experience with Blue Planet Inventory (BPI) modules and metadata modeling.

Familiarity with Neo4j, PostgreSQL, and Camunda BPMN.

Development of JUnit tests

Working with Restful web services and API

Others Skills: ElasticSearch, drools, Kafka integration, REST (on Spring MVC), SSO (LDAP, Reverse Proxy, OAuth2), Camunda / BPMN / OSM/ Workflow

Programming theory: algorithms and data structures, relational and graph database concepts, etc.,

Understanding of TMF Open APIs, SDN/NFV concepts, and microservices architecture.

Experience with containerization tools like Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.

Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams.

Prior experience with other inventory systems (e.g., Amdocs Cramer, Ericsson Granite).

Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.

Knowledge of DevOps tools (e.g., Jenkins, Git) and CI/CD pipelines.

Telecom domain expertise, especially in service modeling and resource abstraction.
