Key Responsibilities
Software Architecture & System Design
- Define and maintain software architecture for avionics systems, including:
- Flight Control Systems
- Mission Computers
- Cockpit Display Systems
- Communication & Navigation Systems
- Health Monitoring Systems
- Perform software architecture trade-off studies and technology evaluations.
- Translate customer and system requirements into scalable software architecture and detailed technical specifications.
- Establish software frameworks, reusable components, and design guidelines across programs.
Aerospace Software Development
- Lead architecture design for real-time embedded software applications.
- Drive implementation using C/C++, Embedded Linux, and RTOS platforms.
- Ensure adherence to engineering best practices, coding standards, and software quality metrics.
- Support software integration, troubleshooting, and performance optimization activities.
Safety & Certification Compliance
- Ensure compliance with aerospace standards and certification requirements:
- DO-178C
- DO-331 (Model-Based Development)
- ARP4754A
- ARP4761
- DO-330
- DO-254 (working knowledge)
- Participate in certification reviews, audits, and customer assessments.
- Support safety analysis activities including FHA, FMEA, FTA, and Hazard Assessments.
Customer & Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate directly with global aerospace OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers.
- Act as technical interface for customers during architecture discussions and design reviews.
- Present architectural solutions, risk assessments, and technical recommendations to leadership teams and customers.
Technical Leadership
- Provide architectural guidance to development teams across multiple geographies.
- Mentor software leads and senior engineers.
- Drive innovation initiatives in areas such as:
- Digital Engineering
- Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
- AI-assisted engineering
- Software modernization

Qualifications
Education
- B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering (Preferred).
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or Systems Engineering is a plus.
Experience
- 13–18 years of experience in aerospace embedded software development.
- Minimum 7+ years of experience in software architecture or technical leadership roles.
- Proven experience delivering DO-178C-compliant software programs.
- Experience working with global aerospace customers and distributed engineering teams.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
- Exposure to avionics cybersecurity standards and secure software development.
- Knowledge of FACE, MOSA, or Open Mission Systems architectures.
- Experience in Agile and SAFe development methodologies.
- Familiarity with Digital Thread and Digital Twin concepts.
