Associate Team Lead - Laytime Operations

We are looking for an Associate Team Lead - Laytime Operations who is passionate about shipping, logistics, and commercial operations. In this role, you will manage laytime activities, support demurrage and dispatch settlements, work closely with global stakeholders, and ensure smooth execution of marine shipment operations.

What You'll Do

✅ Calculate and manage Demurrage, Dispatch, and Detention claims for marine shipments.

✅ Review charter party agreements and voyage-related documents.

✅ Coordinate with Freight, Commercial, Trading, Finance, and Operations teams to resolve shipment-related queries.

✅ Prepare and send invoices along with supporting documents.

✅ Track collections and support claim settlements.

✅ Handle claim discussions and dispute resolution with customers and counterparties.

✅ Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

✅ Monitor team activities, daily requests, and ensure timely closure of operational tasks.

What We're Looking For

Required Skills

• Good understanding of Laytime, Demurrage, Dispatch, and Detention processes.
• Experience reviewing charter parties and shipping contracts.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
• Familiarity with SAP or other logistics/shipping systems is a plus.

Preferred Knowledge

• Marine shipping and terminal operations.
• International logistics and freight operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, Shipping, or a related field.
• 3-6 years of experience in Laytime Operations, Shipping, Freight, Logistics, or a related area.
• Strong English communication skills (written and verbal).
• Knowledge of additional languages such as German, French, or Spanish will be an advantage.
