Role Summary
Need a D365 Business Central Technical Lead to support cloud ERP technical architecture, custom AL development, and system integrations. He will be involved in building performant AL extensions, designing robust REST/OData APIs, and manipulating complex backend logic (Reservation Entries, Lot/Serial Item Tracking, and Advanced Warehousing engines). Additionally, he will provide functional L3 support—troubleshooting core operational and posting issues across Financials, Inventory, and Warehousing workflows.
Core Responsibilities
- AL Architecture & Development: Design, build, and maintain high-grade AL extensions in VS Code using event subscribers/publishers.
- REST API & Web Service Integrations: Architect secure, scalable custom REST APIs, OData v4, Webhooks, and OAuth 2.0 integrations connecting BC SaaS to third-party platforms.
- Deep Engine Logic Customization: Write custom routines around complex backend engines, including programmatic manipulation of Reservation Entries, Auto/Specific Lot & Serial Tracking, and Advanced Warehousing workflows (Directed Pick/Put-away, Warehouse Shipments/Receipts).
- Functional L3 Support & Issue Resolution: Investigate and resolve high-priority functional errors in Financials (posting routines, dimension balancing, costing adjustments, bank rec) and Warehousing/Supply Chain (inventory posting errors, bin locks, reservation breaks).
- Telemetry & System Health: Monitor environment health using Application Insights, analyze AL profiling traces, and resolve database locking and performance bottlenecks.
- Technical Governance: Author Technical Design Documents (TDD), perform code reviews.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Total & Cloud Experience: 8+ years total experience in Dynamics NAV / D365 Business Central development, with 3+ years dedicated to D365 BC SaaS using AL & Visual Studio Code.
- Technical Mastery: Deep expertise in AL extension development, RESTful APIs, JSON/XML handling, Git source control, and Application Insights telemetry.
- Engine & Data Knowledge: Practical experience with Reservation Entry (Table 337) logic, Lot/Serial Item Tracking, and Advanced Warehousing table structures/events.
- Functional Troubleshooting: Strong hands-on capability to diagnose and fix functional posting errors across General Ledger, AP/AR, Inventory, and Advanced Warehousing.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field.
Preferred / Certifications
- Microsoft Certifications: Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Business Central Developer Associate (MB-820) or Functional Consultant Associate (MB-800).
- Modernization & Platform: Prior experience with C/AL to AL code conversion, cloud data migration tools, or Power Platform / Dataverse integrations.
