Education: B.E/B. Tech/B.Sc/ Graduation
Experience: 3+ Years
Location: Bangalore/Mumbai/Hyderabad
Key Skills: Core MySQL 5.7, MySQL 8, Percona, AWS RDS and Aurora PostgreSQL experience is a plus.
Required Skills:
- 3+yrs of experience in supporting MySQL Databases.
- Specialized in AWS RDS and Aurora Cloud Databases.
- Experience in MySQL 5.7/8.0 both on-premises and Cloud.
- Experience in supporting PostgreSQL databases.
- Has supported large enterprise environments with complex datasets.
- Worked in Clustered architecture like InnoDB cluster, Galera Cluster,etc.
- Experience in MySQL Backup and Restores.
- Experience in Monitoring Solutions.
- Experienced in HA Replication solutions with MySQL, MariaDB and Percona.
- Experienced in RDS and Aurora MySQL support.
- Experience in performance tuning in opensource databases.
- Experienced in Installation, Configuration and Administration of MySQL.
- Experienced in AWS cloud environment.
- 24 X 7 production support experience.
- Knowledge of Linux and Windows Servers.
- Clear Communication.
General Experience in the following other areas is required:
- Extensive experience with installation, management, upgrades, backup and restore of large MySQL and MariaDB database system installations.
- Knowledge of PostgreSQL is preferable.
- Ability to work with others collectivity, as a Team.
- Scripting in Bash/Perl/JavaScript/Python.
- Percona Toolkits, PMM, ProxySQL, etc.
- MySQL, MariaDB and AWS, Azure Certifications is a plus.
- Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Automation, documentation, shell scripting, Stored procedure programming, query tuning, system tuning, resource contention analysis, backup, and recovery, standby, replication, etc.
- Must have substantial hands-on knowledge on AWS Cloud and Azure Cloud.
- Understanding of PHP, Perl, and web application framework.
- Good knowledge of ITIL Framework.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Take part in database incident management and operational support. Efforts to improve process for automated monitoring and proactive intervention, reducing downtime.
- Develop Stored Procedures and Database Triggers in support of application development.
- Participate in application development projects and be responsible for the strategic database architecture and design.
- Participate in the creation of development, staging, and production database instances, and the migration from one environment to another.
- Responsible for developing SQL code review to ensure queries are optimized and tuned to perform efficiently prior to production release.
- Responsible for regular backups and recovery of databases.
- Responsible for regular maintenance on databases (e.g., Re-indexing, Archiving).
- Responsible for pro-active remediation of database operational problems.
- Responsible for Query tuning and preventative maintenance.
Certification:
- AWS Solutions Architect Associate or MySQL Specialized Certification required (or must commit to get certified within the first 6 months of employment)

As a MySQL DBA, you will be working on the latest Opensource technologies in the industry. This position is based out of our global delivery centers in Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Bangalore in India.
