Role Description

The Associate Data Scientist role is a full-time position located on-site in Pune. The selected candidate will be responsible for analyzing datasets, performing statistical analyses, creating predictive models, and generating insights for business decision-making. Daily tasks include producing data visualizations, conducting thorough data analyses, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement data-driven solutions. This position provides opportunities to work on exciting AI and ML projects tailored to client needs.

KeyResponsibilities:

1) Explore datasets, define problem statements, and build quick baselines

2) Train, validate, and evaluate ML models with strong metric tracking

3) Design and run experiments

4) Collaborate with product, engineering, and operations teams to integrate models

5) Communicate results clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Must-Have Skills:

1) Strong Python (pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn)

2) Solid grasp of statistics and ML fundamentals (regression, classification, CV)

3) Deeper understanding of fundamentals, problem solving ability & good quantitative aptitude

4) Knowledge of model interpretability, bias, and fairness practices

5) Strong written & verbal communication

6) Curiosity, experimentation mindset, and ownership mentality

Good to Have:

1) Domain: Basic understanding of water/wastewater processes and KPIs

2) MLOps (brief): Model packaging, API serving, experiment tracking, monitoring

3) Understanding of chemical process analytics

4) Knowledge of building LLM applications

5) Experience with time series data

6) Knowledge of model interpretability, bias, and fairness practices

7) Familiarity with dashboarding tools such as Streamlit or Grafana

Qualifications:

1) Undergraduate degree in a related field (e.g., Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Chemical Engineering, Applied Chemistry)

2) 1-2 years of relevant professional experience in data science or applied machine learning
