Main Job Purpose:

The Business Services Lead for HR Services & Workforce for South Asia is responsible for leading the One MBS procurement agenda for Business Services in all facets (managing a spend corpus of 81 ME, supplier base of 2400 Nos, Purchase Commodity code of 52) and this role will be reporting to the Strategic Sourcing Manager, Asia.

Currently this role is responsible only for Workforce Portfolio (managing a spend corpus of 71 ME, supplier base of 1600 Nos, Purchase Commodity code of 37). The complexity has increased significantly, requiring highly skilled professionalto handle & deliver best results successfully.

This role is responsible for supporting the sourcing strategy development, implementation, and procurement of external workforce (contingent labour, consultancy, finance, legal, recruitment, etc.) and HR services (HR benefits and reward, training, mobility & personnel relocation, occupational health, payroll services etc) for South Asia (5 countries India, Pakistan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh). This role is responsible to handle Supply chain complexity of 32 Owned factories across South Asia. You will be leading projects and program independently under supervision of the Portfolio Strategy Lead - Workforce & HR Services (Asia) and assisted by global leads on key strategic programs.

CPM Projects to be executed for South Asia Cluster. Especially in complex area of Blue-collar Temp Staffing to be managed for South Asia Cluster (5 countries, 32 Factories, managing a spend corpus of 10 ME, supplier base of 340 Nos with long tail spend supplier list) to achieve vendor rationalization & potential savings.

As the BS ambassador for South Asia, we also anticipate that this job will have closer ties to the local & global leadership teams. The role will need to foster and build a culture of collaboration and support excellent execution of our strategies while fostering deep relationships with our stakeholders and suppliers.

ABOUT PROCUREMENT

Part of the Supply Chain family, Procurement is responsible for over 30B Euro of material and services spend globally with more than 60,000 suppliers, over half of them in MBS. Getting the right services and materials, sustainably sourced and ensuring responsible procurement is critical to ensuring our brands with purpose grow. Our teams work closely with the business to understand stakeholders needs, bring innovation to meet changing consumer, employees, and customers needs, and drive financial value for Unilever through competitive buying. We are at the forefront of digital procurement, bringing new tools and analytics to drive data-based decisions.

ABOUTMBS

This role will fall within the Unilever's Marketing Business Services (MBS) Procurement department. MBS, Unilever's Marketing and Business Services Procurement team, is responsible for Unilever's sourcing and supplier strategy and execution for all third party spend across Marketing, Business Services, and IT, supporting the business requirements of Brands, Divisions, Markets, and functions to drive 4G growth through strategic supplier management, cost and value management, sustainability, and innovation, aligned with Unilever's Compass. The team manages an annual spend of 9Bn Euro with a supplier base of 40,000+ suppliers across Marketing, Business Services, and IT.

MBS kicked off a major transformation program (One-MBS) to move from the current market-based organization and global organization to an expertise-driven organization. By consolidating our MBS teams globally, we are creating a single community to better align with Global functions, Divisions & Markets, and their strategies. As One team we can better leverage our scale, and yet remain relevant in the markets by working together, we can work faster to connect strategy and execution and be better partners to internal stakeholders and our suppliers by acting as One Unilever. It will allow us to collaborate with each other more closely so we can learn from one another and build our capability and expertise as MBS procurement professionals.

Within MBS, the Business Services portfolio covers an array of various services of Workplace Travel, Fleet, Waste management, Workforce Management, HR Services, outsourcing which includes services related to our offices and supply chain sites with cost-effective solutions that excite our employees and do so safely and sustainably.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Supports the execution of regional strategic sourcing projects and is responsible for local negotiation planning & execution, ensuring commercial benefit (savings) captured in benefits tools and signed off by finance.
  • Working with Strategic Sourcing Manager, Portfolio Lead, regional stakeholders, and supplier ops to determine preferred supplier listings and agreeing rate cards for regional suppliers.
  • Take ownership on and lead projects to deliver the One-MBS agenda across key value pillars such as Sourcing Excellence, Partner with Purpose, Preferred Supplier governance, Supplier Diversity, Contract Life-cycle Management, Responsible Sourcing, savings, cash, Social Commitments, CPM.
  • Understand the business needs related to functional areas of spend and bring deep expertise and insights across the value chain and supply base to translate the business requirements into effective future-fit procurement strategies.
  • Build and maintain market knowledge of trends and suppliers in assigned categories of spend as appropriate.
  • Proactively work with Supplier Ops to ensure day to day transactional work is being supported and making use of eProcurement tools to deliver increased value.
  • Working closely with Key PMU stakeholders and Strategic Sourcing Manager to develop and delivery market specific portfolio strategies.
  • Providing credible market data and local supplier segmentation, creating detailed budget and spend analysis to identify sourcing pipeline and plan that meets local business needs.
  • Manage the assigned Portfolios in terms of sourcing, contracting, stakeholder and supplier partner management activities on a day-to-day basis.
  • Execute innovative strategic sourcing processes, support CPM roll-out as relevant and focus on delivering best value to the Unilever business.
  • Manage escalation issues arising from markets and seek help from Strategic Sourcing manager or Portfolio lead as needed.
  • Proactively ensure transparency and compliance with business policies for sourcing activities in the PMU.
  • Ensuring that stakeholders are complying to company policy and guidelines, providing tips and tools to help local buying in markets where procurement resource is unavailable

Experience Required:

Qualification/experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Studying for or achieved relevant procurement certifications (CIPS, Unilever Buying Foundation or equivalent)
  • 5+ years of procurement experience in a large complex organization (Indirect Procurement experience will be preferred) and excellent communication skill (fluent in English)
  • Knowledgeable in Sourcing, negotiation and contracting.
  • Understanding of supply market, value chain, and FMCG knowledge. Knowledge of Workforce and other business services portfolios is a strong plus.
  • Track record of building relationships in a complex field of stakeholders and suppliers, across diverse functional groups and geographic locations
  • Experience on project management
  • Experience in working successfully in virtual team environments.
  • Excellent skill in Excel (V-lookup, pivot tables), PPT and Power BI.
  • Knowledge of Unilever business systems is a plus i.e., Velocity, Coupa, CLM, RPP, SRS, Cash, SAP and Aravo.
  • Managing and influencing senior (WL2+) stakeholders in the market
