Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for an Assistant Purchasing Manager, located in Noida. The Assistant Purchasing Manager will be responsible for managing procurement processes, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring timely delivery of materials. Daily tasks include vendor management, maintaining procurement records, preparing purchase orders, and coordinating with the operations team to meet project requirements. The role also requires monitoring inventory levels and ensuring cost efficiency while adhering to company policies and industry standards.
Qualifications
- Experience in procurement, vendor management, and contract negotiation
- Knowledge of supply chain processes, inventory control, and procurement planning
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in ERP systems and procurement tools is an advantage
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy
- Familiarity with steel fabrication or infrastructure-related industries is a plus
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
Procurement / Sourcing
- Manage procurement of Transmission Line materials, including
- Towers / angles / nuts & bolts
- Conductors, earth wire, OPGW
- Hardware fittings & insulators
- Foundation steel, cement, sand, GI wire, earthing materials
- Line accessories and tools & tackles
- Float RFQs, obtain quotations, prepare techno-commercial bid comparatives (CS / TBE)
- Negotiate price, delivery, and commercial terms with suppliers & OEMs
- Finalize purchase orders and contracts within approved budget
Vendor Management
- Develop and evaluate TL vendors (towers, conductors, insulators, hardware, fasteners)
- Maintain approved vendor lists and conduct vendor audits
- Build strong supplier relationships to improve performance & lead time
Cost & Budgeting
- Support budgeting, cost estimation & BOQ understanding
- Achieve targeted cost savings through alternative sourcing & negotiation
- Track project-wise procurement cost vs budget
- Coordinate with Project, Design, Planning, QA/QC, Logistics, Stores & Accounts
- Ensure timely delivery of materials as per project schedule
- Follow-up for inspection, dispatch, GRN, and payment release
- Work on ERP / SAP for PR, PO, GRN, MIGO, invoicing process
- Maintain procurement MIS, PO tracker, vendor performance reports
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies & audits
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of transmission line materials and standards
- (IS / IEC for conductor, insulator, tower steel etc.)
- Hands-on experience in EPC procurement cycle
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
- Knowledge of SAP / ERP systems
- Understand drawings, BOQ, technical specs, procurement process
- Proficient in Excel, MS-Office, MIS & documentation
Qualifications
- B.Tech / Diploma Electrical / Mechanical / Civil / Industrial Engineering
- 36Years EPC procurement, preferably in Transmission Line Projects
