Deputy Proj. Manager - Electrical - Benin Rural Electrification Project
Location - Benin - Cotonou, West Africa
Role Objective
To support the Sr. Project Manager in leading, planning, and executing all electrical works under the Benin Rural Electrification Project, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations,
Roles & Responsibilities :
Project Management:
- Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resources to ensure timely project delivery.
- Lead the execution of electrical works including rural electrification, power distribution lines, substations, and related infrastructure.
- Monitor progress against schedule, budget, and quality parameters; identify variances and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, safety standards, and international best practices.
Business Development :
- Explore and create business opportunities.
- Ensuring timely submission of technical & financial bids.
- Ensuring bid-to-win ratio as per internal plan.
Team Management:
- Mentor junior project managers and engineers, fostering a collaborative and results-driven team culture.
Stakeholder Communication:
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with government officials, contractors, and local communities.
Desired Candidate Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Electrical Engineering
- Experience: Minimum 15+ years of experience in managing large-scale infrastructure projects, specifically in rural electrification or power distribution.
- Overseas experience is preferable.
- Strong expertise in rural electrification, power distribution, and project execution.
- Proven track record of managing medium to large-scale electrical infrastructure projects internationally or in challenging environments.
- Travel/Relocation: Willingness to relocate to Benin and travel to any location for site visit and coordination.
