Role Description The Assistant Professor in Mechanical Engineering specializing in Robotics & Automation will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses, conducting laboratory sessions, and supervising student projects in related domains. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing course materials, delivering lectures, evaluating student performance, and guiding learners in research and innovation. The role involves contributing to departmental research activities, securing funded projects where possible, and publishing in reputable journals and conferences. The faculty member will participate in curriculum development, academic advising, and departmental committees to support continuous improvement. This is a full-time, on-site position located in Kanke, requiring regular presence on campus for teaching, mentoring, and collaboration.
Qualifications
- Advanced academic preparation in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Automation, or a closely related field (Ph.D. preferred; minimum of a relevant master's degree required).
- Demonstrated expertise in robotics and automation, including areas such as control systems, mechatronics, industrial automation, or intelligent manufacturing.
- Proven ability in teaching at the university level, with strong classroom management, instructional design, and student mentoring skills.
- Research experience evidenced by publications, conference participation, or funded projects in robotics, automation, or mechanical engineering.
- Proficiency in relevant software and tools (e.g., CAD/CAE packages, simulation tools, programming for robotics and control systems).
- Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary academic environment.
- Commitment to inclusive, learner-centered pedagogy and adherence to institutional policies, ethical standards, and academic integrity.
- Prior industry exposure, postdoctoral experience, or participation in collaborative projects with industry or research organizations is an advantage.
