Job Summary
The Assistant Manager – Human Resources is responsible for supporting and managing end-to-end HR operations, ensuring compliance with labor laws and company policies, and partnering with business leaders to drive employee engagement, talent management, performance management, and organizational effectiveness. The role plays a key part in implementing HR initiatives that align with business objectives while delivering an exceptional employee experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end employee lifecycle activities including onboarding, transfers, promotions, confirmations, and separations.
- Support performance management processes, including KPI setting, goal alignment, mid-year reviews, and annual performance appraisals.
- Coordinate talent management initiatives including succession planning, talent reviews, and employee development programs.
- Monitor employee engagement initiatives and organize activities to improve workplace culture and employee satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws, company policies, HR governance, and internal controls.
- Handle employee relations matters, grievances, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution professionally and confidentially.
- Support compensation and benefits administration in coordination with Payroll and Finance.
- Manage attendance, leave administration, and HR policy implementation.
- Analyze HR metrics such as headcount, attrition, recruitment, absenteeism, and productivity, and prepare management dashboards.
- Maintain HRIS (Oracle HCM/SAP/Workday or equivalent) ensuring data accuracy and timely updates.
- Support organizational restructuring, workforce planning, and change management initiatives.
- Coordinate learning and development programs and identify employee training needs.
- Prepare HR reports, presentations, and management information for leadership reviews.
- Ensure timely completion of statutory documentation, employee records, and HR audits.
- Collaborate with cross-functional departments to streamline HR processes and improve employee services.
- Drive HR digital transformation initiatives and process automation wherever applicable.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- MBA/PGDM in Human Resources preferred.
- Professional certifications such as SHRM-CP, PHR, CIPD, or equivalent are an advantage.
Experience
- 6–12 years of progressive HR experience.
- Minimum 2 years in a supervisory or Assistant Manager role.
- Experience in large organizations or multinational companies is preferred.
- Experience handling HR operations in organizations with 500+ employees is preferred.
- Experience in Manufacturing, Retail, Construction, Building Materials, Real Estate, or FMCG is an advantage.
