Assistant Manager - HSE (F/M/D)

Responsibilities

  • HSE Strategy and Policy Deployment - Deploy and align the HSE targets and strategies in line with the company's business objectives and industry best practices in accordance with the Freudenberg HSE standards. Considering the Deploy Global HSE policies, standards, and guidelines that are consistent with local regulations and international standards while tailoring them to specific regional needs
  • Regulatory Compliance - Ensure compliance of Environmental Management Systems (EMS) and Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series (OHSAS). Monitor and interpret changes in HSE regulations and standards locally and globally, ensuring the company's compliance with all applicable laws and requirements. Collaborate with regional HSE associates to ensure a consistent and compliant approach to HSE matters across all sites. Monitor legal compliance of all sites
  • Safety Culture and Training - Champion a strong safety culture throughout the organization by promoting awareness, accountability, and proactive engagement at all levels. Oversee the development and delivery of HSE training programs to educate employees and contractors on safe work practices, accident prevention, fire protection and environmental leadership
  • Incident Prevention and Management - Establish effective incident prevention programs, hazard identification systems, and risk assessment methodologies complying with HSE related Freudenberg Standards (Freudenberg Safety Standards, Freudenberg Environmental Standards, Freudenberg Crisis Prevention Standards) regulations. Lead investigations of serious incidents, accidents, and near-misses, ensuring timely reporting, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions. Regularly performs HSE related site audits (occupational health & safety, machine safety, environmental protection, fire protection)
  • Sustainability and Environmental Protection - Integrate HSE related sustainable practices into our operations to minimize the environmental impact of our activities, including waste reduction and energy conservation initiatives. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive eco-friendly product development and environmentally responsible processes
  • Stakeholder Engagement - Engage with key stakeholders, both internal and external, including regulatory agencies, industry associations, and community partners to enhance HSE practices and build positive relationships
  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting - Act on key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to ensure the effectiveness of HSE programs. Regularly report on HSE performance to senior management and authorities. Ensure comprehensive reporting according to Freudenberg safety standards and all additional mandatory functions. Implementation responsibility for HSE within the scope of FFT

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering or related field an advanced degree is a plus
  • Proven track record of at least 10 years in a HSE leadership role, preferably within a multinational organization
  • In-depth knowledge of HSE regulations, standards, and best practices. Must have Certifications such as internal ISO auditor, education with officially recognized certification in HSE
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and inspiring diverse teams
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to drive change and innovation
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities, Good English Communication skills
