Main Responsibilities
Monthly Management Accounts
- Manage and support the delivery of the monthly month-end close process, ensuring all financial activities are completed accurately, on time, and in line with internal procedures
- Prepare, review, and maintain accurate monthly management accounts, including supporting schedules, journals, accruals, prepayments, and financial analysis.
- Prepare and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations and clear aged items regularly
- Prepare and review monthly variance analysis for revenue , gross profit and other SGA costs as part of the monthly accounts
- Maintain a strong understanding of revenue streams and produce analysis reports proactively
- Manage and review intercompany accounting postings
- Maintain a strong understanding of deferred income, PO write-downs, and matching processes to support business queries
- Use SmartView and Oracle to produce reports and investigate variances
- Record the UK trial balances in Oracle (US system)
- Lead meetings with the internal audit team and review balance sheet reconciliation processes
- Prepare, support and review the monthly and quarterly compliance documents to the US for internal audit purposes
- Support the annual statutory audit process, taking ownership of assigned audit areas and ensuring audit requirements are completed accurately and on time.
- Provide guidance, support, and coaching to team members within the GBS shared service office, helping to develop finance capability and knowledge.
Experience Required (Essential)
- 6-10 years of experience in a finance or accounting role, with strong knowledge of month-end close processes, management accounts, and financial reporting.
- Experience preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations
- Experience analyzing financial results, including revenue, gross profit, and operating expense variances, with the ability to provide meaningful commentary.
- Experience supporting audits and responding to audit queries
Skills/Aptitude Required (Essential)
- Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and basic formulas
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Experience working within a shared service environment and collaborating with multiple stakeholders across teams or regions
- Experience providing guidance, support, or coaching to junior team members and contributing to process improvements.
