Job Description
Position Overview
The Assistant Manager for Events and Communications will support the planning,
execution, and promotion of corporate events while managing internal and
external communications. This role requires a dynamic professional who can
coordinate multiple events simultaneously, craft compelling messaging, and
ensure seamless stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Event Management
Assist in planning and executing corporate events including conferences,
town halls, client meetings, team-building activities, and external
engagements
Coordinate logistics including venue selection, vendor management,
catering, audio-visual requirements, and attendee registration
Manage event budgets and ensure cost-effective delivery without
compromising quality
Conduct post-event evaluations and gather feedback for continuous
improvement
Maintain event calendars and ensure alignment with organizational
priorities
Communications
Develop and distribute internal communications including newsletters,
announcements, and updates
Support external communications efforts including press releases, social
media content, and website updates
Collaborate with marketing teams to ensure brand consistency across all
communications
Draft executive communications, presentations, and talking points as
needed
Monitor communication channels and respond to inquiries in a timely
manner
Stakeholder Management
Liaise with internal departments to understand event and communication
needs
Build and maintain relationships with vendors, suppliers, and external
partners
Coordinate with senior leadership to align events and messaging with
strategic objectives
Administrative Support
Maintain documentation including event briefs, timelines, vendor
contracts, and communication plans
Track and report on event success metrics and communication engagement
Support the Events and Communications Manager with special projects as
assigned
Qualifications
Required
Event Management, Marketing, Hospitality, or related field
3-5 years of experience in event management and/or corporate
communications
Proven track record of successfully managing multiple events and
communication initiatives
Strong project management skills with attention to detail and ability to
meet deadlines
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as events
require
Preferred
Experience with event management software and communication
platforms
Familiarity with social media management and digital communication
tools
Background in hospitality or corporate environment
Vendor negotiation experience
Graphic design or content creation skills (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite)
