Role Description The Assistant Catering Sales Manager is a full-time, on-site role based at The Park Elanza Hotel in Chennai. This role supports the catering sales team in generating and managing banquet and event business, including weddings, corporate meetings, and social functions. Day-to-day responsibilities include responding to inquiries, preparing proposals and contracts, conducting site inspections, and coordinating with operations, kitchen, and front office teams to ensure seamless event execution. The role involves maintaining client relationships, assisting in upselling services and packages, tracking sales performance, and ensuring accurate documentation and billing. The Assistant Catering Sales Manager also supports in planning sales promotions, maintaining event calendars, and ensuring that all events reflect the brand's standards of luxury and service excellence.

Qualifications

  • Catering and event sales skills, including experience handling banquet bookings, creating event proposals, and managing client requirements.
  • Customer service and relationship management skills to build, maintain, and grow long-term client partnerships.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to present packages, handle inquiries, and close sales effectively.
  • Organizational and coordination skills for managing multiple events, timelines, and stakeholders while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Basic knowledge of hospitality operations, including F&B service standards, event setups, and hotel sales processes.
  • Proficiency in standard office software and reservation or sales systems; ability to prepare reports, proposals, and presentations.
  • Previous experience in hotel sales, catering, banquets, or events is highly preferred.
  • Diploma or degree in Hotel Management, Business, Marketing, or a related field is an advantage.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on event schedules.
  • Professional demeanor, positive attitude, and commitment to delivering high-quality guest experiences aligned with a luxury brand.
