Description. We are seeking an Associate Patient Care Coordinator to join our team in Chandler, Arizona. This role is primarily concerned with ensuring a positive patient experience throughout the registration process. You will be working in the Emergency Department and will be focusing on patient identification, data collection, insurance verification, and financial counseling. This is a contract to hire employment opportunity
Responsibilities. Accurately identify patients and collect thorough demographic data. Obtain and verify insurance information, eligibility, and benefits. Ensure appropriate reimbursement for services rendered. Determine and collect patient financial liability. Refer patients to the Patient Registration Specialist for assistance with financial counseling and/or clearance when necessary. Adhere to the organization's policies and procedures for resolution of patient financial liability. Act as an information source for patients and families by explaining hospital policies, patient financial responsibilities, and Patient Rights and Responsibilities. Utilize customer service skills to ensure a positive patient experience throughout the registration process. Maintain accurate patient credit records and process customer credit applications efficiently. Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action when necessary
Requirements. Possess excellent customer service skills to ensure satisfactory patient experiences. Knowledge and understanding of various medical procedures and policies. Experience in dealing with insurance matters relating to patient care. Ability to provide workstation support when required. Familiarity with benefit functions and reimbursement processes. Understanding of liability issues in healthcare settings. Experience working in an offshore environment is a plus. Proficiency in managing patient demographics and registration processes. Ability to carry out financial counseling for patients. Knowledge of TRICARE and NIS systems. Respect for patient rights and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality. Experience in the patient registration process. Understanding of patient financial matters and processes
