Job Title: Data Centre Graduate Trainee Engineer
Location/s: Mumbai DC
MISSION
- Support the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of business-critical data centre infrastructure by assisting the site operations team in day-to-day monitoring, maintenance, and reporting activities.
- The Graduate Trainee Engineer will develop technical competencies across electrical, mechanical, and BMS systems while contributing to uptime, service quality, and customer satisfaction.
- The role is designed to build future-ready data centre engineers through structured on-the-job learning and exposure to real-time operations.
OUTCOMES
- Assist in 24x7 monitoring of critical infrastructure systems.
- Support preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
- Participate in incident, event, and change management.
- Maintain operational records and databases.
- Prepare daily logs, shift reports, and MIS.
- Follow SOP/MOP/EOP procedures.
- Support vendor coordination.
- Ensure safety and compliance adherence.
- Gain exposure to capacity and performance management.
- Provide first-level operational support and escalation.
- Team player & problem-solving attitude with self-starter attributes.
THE TEAM
- The role provides 1st contact level of contact for all site related escalations/communications/co-ordination. The role works with NOC Ops, Service Ops, Projects Design/Build, Transition, IT, Finance, Procurement Teams to for delivering Site uptime, Facility service quickly and efficiently and, where required.
- The role supports Site Engineer & Manager with Site Operations by providing technical expertise & managing O&M, Transition, retrofit projects, vendors where ever required by managing shifts.
- Other key internal and external stakeholders include Major Build and Operations Lifecycle Design and Delivery Teams, Colt DCS and Colt Core Staff, Customers and Suppliers
THE SKILLS / EXPERTISE THEY BRING (Seven bullet maximum)
- Strong fundamentals in Electrical/Mechanical engineering.
- Basic understanding of data center systems. (PUE, Tier standards, Uptime, Equipment availability, etc)
- Analytical and detail-oriented approach.
- Process-driven mindset.
- Good communication skills.
- Willingness for shift work.
- Learning agility and initiative.
- Basic MS Office skills.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical(Preferred)/Mechanical
- From reputed Grade A institution (Tier-1 universities, or equivalent)
- Strong academic record (>=60% or equivalent).
- 0-1 year experience OR Fresher.
- Relevant exposure preferred.
- Interpersonal communications skills with fluency in English, Hindi & Marathi.
