Role Description
We are seeking a self-driven and detail-oriented Analytical Finance Researcher who will play a pivotal role in shaping Eqvista's content strategy through independent research, data analysis, and insightful storytelling. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in the world of equity management, financial analytics, and B2B finance content.
You will be the brain behind the research, working at the intersection of finance, data, and strategy. If you have a passion for equity management, financial markets, and analytical research and you thrive in a self-directed environment this role is for you. We don't just want someone who can find data — we want someone who knows what to do with it.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct independent, in-depth research on financial topics relevant to equity management, cap tables, startup funding, valuations, ESOPs, and related B2B finance domains
- Identify, gather, and analyze data from credible financial sources to develop original insights, statistics, and analytical studies for blog content
- Proactively propose and ideate new blog topics backed by data, market trends, and audience relevance — taking full ownership of the research pipeline
- Manage the research framework for Eqvista's educational and informational blog, ensuring all topics are niche-relevant, accurate, and industry-aligned
- Collaborate closely with the Marketing team and Financial Analysts to align research output with business goals and content strategy
- Develop data-driven research reports, outlines, and briefs that guide the creation of authoritative financial blog posts
- Meet deadlines consistently and manage multiple research projects simultaneously in a remote work setting
- Stay up to date with industry developments, regulatory changes, and emerging trends in equity management, startup ecosystems, and B2B finance
- Review and validate financial information for accuracy and credibility, ensuring all research meets Eqvista's quality standards
- Build and maintain a research repository of financial data, references, market statistics, and insights for ongoing use
Required Qualifications
- 2–3 years of proven experience in financial research, analytical research, or a closely related role
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics and Business
- Strong proficiency in using Crunchbase and PitchBook for financial data sourcing and analysis
- Strong understanding of equity management, financial markets, corporate finance, or startup funding ecosystems
- Demonstrated ability to independently research, analyze, and synthesize complex financial data into structured, meaningful insights
- Experience working in or with a B2B financial services or fintech environment is highly preferred
- Proficiency in identifying and working with credible financial data sources (SEC filings, market databases, financial reports, industry publications, etc.)
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to meet deadlines without supervision
- Proactive mindset — someone who takes initiative, brings new ideas to the table, and leads research efforts independently
Preferred Profile
- Exposure to SEC filings, EDGAR database, or financial regulatory research
- Knowledge of ESOP, 409A valuations, or startup equity structures
- Experience working cross-functionally with marketing or product teams
- Familiarity with tools like Bloomberg, Statista, or similar financial research platforms
- Background in CFA, MBA Finance, or equivalent academic/professional credentials
