Job Description

The BlackLine COE Analyst will serve as a key subject matter expert in the accounting organization, focusing on the BlackLine platform. This role will collaborate with various internal teams, including IT, data assurance, and accounting, to support the global accounting community and ensure the successful implementation and ongoing maintenance of the BlackLine platform. The analyst will support system administration, user training, system enhancements, and compliance reporting, contributing to continuous improvement efforts and the expansion of automation and analytics within the platform.

Key Responsibilities

1. System Administration

  • Maintain the BlackLine platform, including managing user roles, permissions, and security settings.
  • Support system updates and upgrades to ensure the platform is aligned with the latest functionality and features.
  • Collaborate with Kraft Heinz Security Provisioning Platform (e.g., Saviynt) to implement structured approval processes.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues either internally or by escalating tickets with BlackLine support.
  • Ensure data integrity and security within the BlackLine system, ensuring compliance with internal controls and policies.
  • Assist with new entity setup, and configure master data accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Perform routine system tasks, including period and calendar maintenance, report customization, and ensuring timely reconciliation processes.
  • Monitor system imports and interfaces from subledgers and local ERPs, addressing any discrepancies or issues.
  • Participate in meetings with BlackLine and consultants to discuss issues, enhancements, and process improvements.

2. User Support

  • Provide training and support to BlackLine users on system functionality, processes, and best practices.
  • Troubleshoot user issues related to the BlackLine platform, identifying solutions or escalating issues as needed.
  • Maintain user documentation and training materials to ensure all users have the resources to perform their tasks effectively.
  • Coordinate and provide guidance on user access requests, reconciliation assignments, organizational structure, and roles.
  • Test BlackLine software to ensure both newly implemented and existing functionalities are operating as intended.
  • Develop effective communication strategies to explain technical solutions in business terms and foster positive relationships across teams.

3. Financial Process Alignment

  • Execute strategic projects related to BlackLine, collaborating with business users to ensure the platform is aligned with their processes.
  • Identify optimization opportunities within BlackLine to improve workflow efficiencies and streamline tasks.
  • Collaborate with finance and IT teams on system integrations and enhancements to ensure BlackLine effectively supports business requirements.
  • Drive process standardization across regions to ensure consistent use of the BlackLine platform.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for Black Line-related projects, such as ERP implementations and automation enhancements (e.g., journal entries, intercompany transactions).
  • Define and drive strategies for automation, user satisfaction, and operational efficiencies to enhance business value.
  • Participate in broader BlackLine-related projects, proactively identifying technologies to improve productivity, such as intercompany hubs, transaction matching, and other integrations.

4. Reporting and Analysis

  • Generate and maintain reports and dashboards to track system usage, performance, and key metrics.
  • Analyze data to identify trends, assess the effectiveness of the BlackLine platform, and propose improvements.
  • Support financial audits, including internal, external, and SOX audits, to ensure BlackLine processes meet compliance standards.
