Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Learning & Development professional to drive training initiatives across retail stores. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in footwear product training, retail sales capability building, customer experience, onboarding, and behavioral training.
The role will be responsible for designing and delivering engaging learning programs that enhance product knowledge, improve sales performance, and create exceptional customer experiences across retail stores.
Experience
- Assistant Manager: 3+ years of experience in Retail Learning & Development.
- Deputy Manager: 5+ years of experience in Retail Learning & Development.
- Manager: 8+ years of experience in Retail Learning & Development.
- Mandatory experience in retail training.
- Hands-on experience in delivering footwear product training is mandatory.
- Experience in footwear, sportswear, apparel, or lifestyle retail brands is highly preferred.
- Experience in product knowledge training, customer service, sales capability, onboarding, and behavioral training.
- Experience working with large retail store networks will be preferred.
Key Responsibilities
1. Product Training (Footwear)
- Design and deliver footwear product training covering product construction, technology, materials, features, benefits, fit, and customer recommendations.
- Conduct training sessions on new product launches and seasonal collections.
- Enable store teams to confidently explain footwear technologies and recommend the right products to customers.
- Develop product knowledge certification programs for retail employees.
2. Retail Training
- Conduct sales and customer service training programs for store teams.
- Drive induction and onboarding programs for new retail employees.
- Conduct refresher training programs across stores.
- Visit stores regularly to coach employees and identify training needs.
- Ensure consistency of training across all store locations.
3. Learning Needs Analysis
- Identify capability gaps through Training Needs Analysis (TNA).
- Work closely with Retail Operations and Business Heads to develop training plans.
- Design annual and monthly training calendars.
4. Content Development
- Develop engaging classroom and digital learning content.
- Create product manuals, facilitator guides, quick reference guides, SOPs, and training toolkits.
- Update training material based on new product launches and business requirements.
5. Training Delivery
- Deliver classroom, virtual, and on-the-job training.
- Facilitate product knowledge, selling skills, customer experience, and behavioral programs.
- Conduct Train-the-Trainer (TTT) sessions wherever required.
6. Stakeholder Management
- Partner with Retail Operations, HR, Merchandising, Buying, and Regional Managers.
- Coordinate with external training partners whenever required.
- Support business teams in improving retail capability.
7. Performance Measurement
- Evaluate training effectiveness through:
- Sales performance
- Conversion rates
- Customer feedback
- Mystery audit scores
- Training assessments
- Track training ROI and continuously improve learning interventions.
8. Learning Culture
- Drive employee engagement through learning initiatives.
- Promote continuous learning across retail teams.
- Support digital learning initiatives and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
