AI Backend Intern

Propal AI is building the next generation of human-like voice agents for real-time conversations

using LLMs, speech models, and intelligent backend workflows. As a backend intern, you'll work

closely with our core engineering team to contribute to the development of scalable APIs, AI

agent infrastructure, and LLM-based systems.

This internship is ideal for someone passionate about large language models, APIs, vector

databases, and real-world applications of AI.

Duration: 36 months

Ideal for: Final-year students or recent graduates in CS/IT or related fields

About the Internship:

What You'll Work On

Assist in building RESTful APIs using Python (FastAPI preferred)

Develop and test components of our Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines

Write clean, modular code for agent workflows and backend systems

Work with vector databases (FAISS/Pinecone/Weaviate) for knowledge search

Integrate STT, LLM, and TTS APIs into backend pipelines

Optimize the performance of data fetching, token usage, and latency in LLM queries

Collaborate in sprint planning, standups, and Git-based workflows

What We're Looking For

Solid Python programming skills and knowledge of OOP

Familiarity with FastAPI, Flask, or Django

Understanding of how APIs work (GET, POST, status codes, JSON)

Basic knowledge of databases (SQL or NoSQL)

Curiosity about LLMs, LangChain, or RAG-based systems

Git and version control fundamentals

Bonus Points For

Past projects or internships in AI, NLP, or backend development

Exposure to LangChain, OpenAI, HuggingFace, or vector DBs

Working knowledge of tools like Docker or Postman

Building bots, tools, or backend services independently
