About the Role

Forward Deployed Engineers at Firstsource sit at the intersection of engineering, product, and the customer. You won't be assigned a Jira ticket from a faceless backlog. You'll sit with a client's operations team, watch how the work actually gets done, and build the AI tools that change the math of their business.

This is a hands-on engineering role for people who want to ship real software that operates in production — not write decks about transformation. You'll prototype in days, harden what works, and own the outcome.

What You'll Do

• Spend time on the ground with clients to identify automation and AI opportunities
• Prototype LLM-powered tools (agents, RAG systems, document pipelines, copilots) in days, not sprints
• Pair with senior FDEs and AI coding IDE like (Claude Code, Cursor) to ship code at high velocity
• Take working prototypes and harden them — observability, evals, error handling, deployment
• Demo your work to client stakeholders and incorporate feedback live
• Contribute reusable components back to Firstsource's internal AI platform

What We're Looking For

• B.E. / B.Tech / M.Tech from a premier institutes like IIT, NIT with 1–2 years of experience
• Strong CS fundamentals — data structures, algorithms, system design
• Hands-on Python (mandatory) plus comfort with one of TypeScript, Go, or Java
• Genuine fluency with AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, Windsurf)
• Have built something with LLM APIs — RAG, agents, function calling, structured outputs — and can talk about what broke
• A public portfolio: GitHub, hackathon wins, side projects deployed somewhere real, open-source contributions, or Kaggle
• Curiosity about the user and the business, not just the code
• Comfortable in ambiguity — happy when the spec isn't yet written

Bonus Points

• You've fine-tuned a model, built with agent frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex, CrewAI, AutoGen), or shipped an MCP server
• You've worked on something with real users (even a college fest tool used by 5,000 people counts)
• You blog, contribute to OSS, or maintain a side project nobody asked you to build
• You've broken production at least once and learned from it
