Position OverviewThe Accountant will oversee Bon Fiction's day-to-day financial operations, including bookkeeping, vendor and customer accounts, compliance, and cost tracking across chocolate manufacturing and sales units. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, accountable, and familiar with GST, TDS, and manufacturing cost accounting. The role requires close coordination between office, factory, and farm teams.
Key Responsibilities1. Accounting & Financial Records- Maintain accurate books of accounts in Tally / Zoho Books / Odoo.
- Record purchase, sales, expense, and journal vouchers systematically.
- Reconcile bank statements, cash books, and inter-location transactions.
- Monitor petty cash, reimbursements, and advances for all locations.
- Support month-end and year-end closings, ensuring ledger accuracy.
2. Vendor & Customer Management- Manage supplier bills, payment terms, and vendor reconciliations.
- Generate and verify invoices for domestic and export sales.
- Track receivables, follow up on payments, and maintain ageing reports.
- Ensure vendor and customer accounts are accurate and current.
3. Compliance & Reporting- File monthly GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B) and reconcile with books.
- Calculate and remit TDS, PF, ESI, and other statutory payments.
- Maintain audit-ready documentation for internal and external audits.
- Liaise with auditors and consultants for statutory compliance.
4. Costing & Manufacturing Support- Track raw material procurement, consumption, and wastage.
- Prepare batch-wise costing for chocolate production and cocoa processing.
- Maintain valuation of inventory (raw, WIP, and finished goods).
- Analyse cost variations and provide input for pricing and margins.
5. Management & MIS Reports- Generate weekly and monthly reports on expenses, sales, and cash flow.
- Prepare profitability statements and variance analyses.
- Assist in preparing financial projections for grants or funding (e.g., NHB / MOFPI).
- Provide actionable insights for management decisions.
6. Coordination- Collaborate with factory, dispatch, and farm teams for documentation (GRNs, delivery notes, transport bills, etc.).
- Coordinate with the Director and Finance Manager for payment approvals and budgets.
- Liaise with external advisors (CA, tax, and legal consultants).
Qualifications & Experience- Education: B.Com / M.Com / MBA (Finance) / CA Inter.
- Experience: 36 years in manufacturing or FMCG accounting (food industry preferred).
- Proficiency in Tally ERP / Zoho Books / Odoo and MS Excel.
- Strong understanding of GST, TDS, and cost accounting principles.
- Experience in inventory management and production costing preferred.
