Principal Oracle Health Data Migration Architect
Job Description
We are seeking experienced Principal Data Migration Architect to lead the strategy, design, governance, and execution of complex healthcare data migration initiatives supporting Oracle Health Millennium implementations and modernization programs. The role is responsible for overseeing migration architecture, technical delivery, stakeholder engagement, risk management, and data quality activities to ensure successful migration of clinical, financial, and operational data into Oracle Health solutions.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, planning, and execution of large-scale Oracle Health data migration projects.
- Define migration strategies, scope, requirements, timelines, deliverables, and implementation approaches aligned to business and technical objectives.
- Develop and oversee migration plans covering data extraction, transformation, mapping, normalization, validation, reconciliation, and loading activities.
- Lead migration solution architecture and large-scale data conversion efforts across multiple workstreams.
- Serve as the primary migration lead and trusted advisor for clients, project leadership, and technical teams.
- Provide technical leadership and oversight during migration testing, validation, cutover, go-live, and post-implementation activities.
- Act as the final escalation point for complex migration, data quality, and conversion-related issues.
- Identify migration risks, dependencies, and challenges, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Coordinate resources, priorities, and project activities while ensuring adherence to schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
- Establish migration governance, standards, methodologies, and best practices across delivery teams.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives for migration tools, automation, processes, and delivery frameworks.
- Ensure compliance with data governance, security, privacy, and healthcare regulatory requirements.
Experience
Required Qualifications
- 6 to 10+ years of experience leading large-scale data migration, data conversion, healthcare implementation, or transformation projects.
- Experience managing complex migration programs involving multiple stakeholders, technical teams, and client organizations.
- Experience working with healthcare systems, EHR/EMR platforms, and healthcare data models.
- Proven experience leading migration strategy, architecture, governance, and delivery activities.
Technical Skills
- Strong expertise in ETL processes, data extraction, transformation, loading, mapping, normalization, reconciliation, and validation methodologies.
- Advanced SQL and database knowledge.
- Experience with data migration tools, conversion frameworks, and automation solutions.
- Knowledge of Oracle databases, cloud technologies, and enterprise data migration practices.
- Strong understanding of data quality management, governance, and migration testing methodologies.
Healthcare & Integration Knowledge
- Understanding of healthcare data structures, clinical workflows, and healthcare information systems.
- Knowledge of EHR/EMR platforms and healthcare data conversion practices.
- Familiarity with healthcare interoperability concepts and healthcare data exchange standards.
Professional Skills
- Strong project leadership, consulting, stakeholder management, and client engagement skills.
- Advanced analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent communication, presentation, facilitation, and documentation skills.
- Ability to operate independently while managing multiple complex workstreams and priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Oracle Health Millennium migration experience.
- Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) experience.
- Healthcare SaaS migration experience.
- ITIL certification.
- Citrix certification.
- Cloud certification (OCI, Azure, or AWS).
- Experience supporting acute care, ambulatory, and revenue cycle environments.
- Experience with Oracle Health Millennium/Cerner solutions.
- Experience leading enterprise-scale healthcare implementations and geographically distributed teams.
- Project Management, Healthcare IT, Data Management, or related professional certifications.
Preferred Millennium Domain Experience
- PowerChart, FirstNet, SurgiNet, Pharmacy, PathNet, RadNet, Revenue Cycle, Scheduling, MPages, Discern Rules, Discern Explorer (CCL), HealtheIntent, Interoperability Platforms.

OR
Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field AND 11 years of experience in implementing or supporting IT solutions or operations or related experience
OR
Master's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field AND 9 years of experience in implementing or supporting IT solutions or operations or related experience.
Job Skills:

People Leadership/Management Experience:
2 years of experience in a leadership role with or without direct reports.
IT Certification:

Project Management Certification:
Project Management Certification, Certified Associate in Project Management)
Cross-Team Leadership Experience:
4 years of experience leading matrix teams or across technology teams.
