We are looking for a Senior Manager, Application Software Engineering to lead an engineering organization responsible for designing, developing, troubleshooting, and delivering software systems across applications, services, platforms, tools, and cloud infrastructure. This role is ideal for an experienced engineering leader who can grow high-performing teams, drive execution across complex programs, and influence the future of healthcare technology on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
In this role, you will lead senior engineers, partner with product and architecture leaders, and own the delivery of reliable, secure, and scalable healthcare solutions. You will help shape technical direction, establish engineering standards, and build an organization capable of supporting healthcare customers operating critical workloads at enterprise scale.

Responsibilities

. Lead and grow a high-performing software engineering team within Oracle Health & AI.
. Manage engineers who design, develop, troubleshoot, debug, and operate software programs, applications, tools, and services.
. Own planning, execution, and delivery of complex engineering initiatives across multiple workstreams.
. Partner with product management, architecture, security, operations, clinical stakeholders, and cross-functional engineering teams.
. Drive technical excellence in cloud-native development, distributed systems, observability, performance, resiliency, privacy, and security.
. Build and scale engineering processes for roadmap planning, sprint execution, release readiness, operational reviews, and production support.
. Ensure solutions meet the expectations of healthcare customers for reliability, compliance, data protection, scalability, and usability.
. Mentor engineers, support career growth, and build a culture of accountability, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
. Communicate status, risks, dependencies, and tradeoffs clearly to senior leadership and partner organizations.

Preferred Qualifications
. Bachelor's or Master degree in Computer Science Engineering or related field
. 10+ years of software engineering experience, including significant experience leading engineering teams.
. 5+ years of people management experience, preferably managing managers or senior technical leads.
. Experience delivering enterprise-scale cloud services, SaaS platforms, healthcare applications, data platforms, AI-enabled products, or distributed systems.
. Strong technical foundation in modern software architecture, APIs, microservices, databases, cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, observability, and production operations.
. Experience with Java, Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, REST/gRPC services, Kubernetes, containers, and cloud native engineering practices.
. Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure or comparable public cloud platforms.
. Strong judgment in balancing delivery speed, operational reliability, security, and long-term maintainability.
. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Application Software Development:

Leads multiple teams or a small group owning a significant application surface area (e.g., multiple services/features) with measurable reliability, security, and performance outcomes.

Software Development and Coding - Design, Testing, and Optimization:

Leads teams and provides technical recommendations and guidance in designing software solutions and identifying, analyzing and ensuring alignment with requirements.
Manages the execution of processes to develop and guide new software features and enhancements following design specifications, ensuring accessibility, and to develop documents to clarify software design and code.
Leads code and/or functional reviews to drive improvements across a project.
Leads and reviews teams to conduct debugging and troubleshooting to identify and fix software issues across multiple components or functional areas.
Provides teams guidance to implement software testing (e.g., functional and non-functional), quality assurance processes, software error logging, monitoring, and observability for effective debugging.
Utilizes an analytic approach to conduct performance profiling and optimization of coding.
Leads teams in troubleshooting and resolving issues related to application programming interface (API) functionality and integration.
Leads teams to implement API versioning, lifecycle, and interoperability strategies.

Software Architecture - Software System Structural Design:

Leads teams to design and develop software, systems, and services.
Acts as a role model to provide technical guidance and domain expertise in software architecture decisions and best practices.
Leads teams to conduct periodic reviews and ensures adherence to architectural framework(s) and internal development practices and standards.

Leads teams through processes for handling customer issues and/or defects handling and directs them to training opportunities as needed.

Leads teams in performing periodic maintenance and testing operations for systems that require upgrading or patching (e.g., for critical vulnerabilities).
Delegates assignments to teams to implement and evolve standard operating procedures (SOP) for development and for driving improvements, ensuring automation, testing, and debugging of systems to ensure service/product availability, health, support, and reliability.
