Eligibility:
\n<\/strong>PhD\/ MS<\/strong> : Candidates with an M Sc, B E, B Tech, M E, M Tech or MBBS with at least 50% marks,and should also have qualified in the GATE\/ UGC – CSIR – NET, JRF\/ ICMR, JRF\/ JEST\/ or any other advanced entrance examination.Candidates with a Master\u2019s degree in Engineering\/Technology\/ Medicine do not require a qualifying exam.Ph D students receive scholarships of Rs 12,000-14,000 (Rs12,000 for MS students). Funding for travel to international conferences is also available.<\/p>\n

Integrated PhD:<\/strong> This programme is offered only in the area of Materials Science. Candidates will be selected through an entrance test consisting of written examination followed by an oral examination. Students who have passed a Bachelor’s degree in any branch of science or engineering or are appearing for final exam this year are eligible to apply, provided they secure a minimum of 55% marks in their degree.<\/p>\n

Selected students will receive a stipend of at least Rs 8,000 pm for the first three years. At the end of three years, successful candidates will receive MS degree in Materials science and can embark on the PhD programme with a fellowship of Rs 12,000\/- per month.<\/p>\n
