Among Tier-2 hubs, <strong>Coimbatore (+23%)<\/strong> and <strong>Ahmedabad (+22%)<\/strong> stood out.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>STEM at the Core of Hiring Growth<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>STEM accounts for more than 7.3 million jobs today.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>IT\u2013Software &amp; Services<\/strong> leads with <strong>2.48 million jobs (35% share)<\/strong>, reflecting strong demand for cloud, cybersecurity, and AI.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>BFSI follows with <strong>9% share<\/strong>, while <strong>Manufacturing and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foundit.in\/search\/bpo-jobs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"BPO Jobs\">BPO<\/a>\/Tech-enabled services<\/strong> each contribute <strong>7%<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Healthcare &amp; Pharma and Construction &amp; Engineering hold a combined <strong>12% share<\/strong>, while <strong>Automotive and Energy (5% each)<\/strong> highlight growth in EVs and renewables.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Newer entrants like AgriTech \u2014 are also adding momentum.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Functional Trends \u2013 IT, Engineering, and Customer Service Lead<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>IT roles dominate with <strong>2.26 million jobs (33%)<\/strong>, while <strong>Engineering &amp; Production accounts for 20%<\/strong>, driven by India\u2019s EV and infrastructure push.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foundit.in\/search\/customer-service-jobs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Customer Service <\/a>(11%)<\/strong> remains steady, cementing India\u2019s outsourcing strength. <strong>Sales &amp; BD (9%)<\/strong> and <strong>Finance &amp; Accounting (7%)<\/strong> are expanding, while <strong>Medical (7%)<\/strong> continues to see stable demand.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Marketing &amp; Communications, Supply Chain, and HR \u2014 though smaller in size \u2014 are increasingly integrated into STEM hiring.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Location Trends \u2013 Metros Strong, Tier-2 Rising<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Metros still lead, with <strong>53% of STEM jobs (3.87 Mn)<\/strong>. Bengaluru (16%), Delhi NCR (12%), and Hyderabad (9%, the fastest-growing metro) dominate. Mumbai holds <strong>7%<\/strong>, while Chennai, Pune, and Kolkata contribute another 9%.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tier-2 cities are gaining share, now accounting for nearly <strong>20% of STEM jobs<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ahmedabad and Jaipur are front-runners, while Coimbatore, Lucknow, Chandigarh, Indore, and Kochi are expanding across IT, engineering, and BPO. This decentralisation reflects how STEM hiring is <strong>no longer metro-exclusive<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Experience-Level Trends \u2013 Freshers First, Leaders Rising<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Freshers (0\u20133 years) remain the largest pool, with <strong>45% of STEM jobs (3.28 Mn)<\/strong>, especially in IT, GCCs, and startups. Tier-2 hubs absorb more entry-level talent (52%) than metros (40%).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mid-level roles (4\u201310 years) make up 39%, steadying delivery and execution functions. Senior professionals (&gt;15 years) now hold a <strong>7% share<\/strong>, with demand rising as firms expand governance and succession planning.
