The IIT Bombay Research Internship 2026-27<\/strong> is now open for eligible undergraduate and postgraduate students who want to work on faculty-led research projects at IIT Bombay. Officially called the IITB Research Internship Award<\/strong>, the programme allows selected students to work full-time on specific research projects under the guidance of IIT Bombay faculty.

For the 2026-27 cycle, applications are open from 23 August to 23 September 2026<\/strong>. What is the IITB Research Internship Award?<\/h2>

The IITB Research Internship Award<\/strong> is an IIT Bombay programme for external students who want structured research experience on specific projects proposed by IIT Bombay faculty. Instead of applying for a general internship role, candidates review the research projects made available by the institute and apply based on their academic background and research interests.<\/p>

The number of internship awards is linked to the number of research projects available<\/strong>. This means selection is project-specific and depends on both the applicant’s eligibility and suitability for the research work proposed by the IIT Bombay faculty member.<\/p>
